I'm Steve Labenz - You can Hear Me Weekends Right here on the Fox!

Growing up in metro Detroit, Steve grew up listening to the huge AM stations like CKLW and Keener 13.  Dreaming of a career in radio, he landed an intern position at, the legendary (but now defunct), WABX while still in high school. 

Dropping out of college, Labenz moved to Alaska for several years to train sled dogs for the Iditarod run. Eventually moving back to the Lower 48, he finished college and moved to Grand Rapids.  After several years and several stations, Labenz was fired from his morning position.  Soon after, he and his wife sold all of their possessions, bought a yurt and live with their four malamutes in northern Ontario.  He flies his single engine Cessna to and from GR to be on the air every other weekend.

Some of his favorite artists include Zeppelin, Walt Mink, The Tragically Hip, David Bowie and Neil Young.
